In the 11th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zachary Kicia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldo Aulestia in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, BuBu's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zbyszko Ratulowski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldo Aulestia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BuBu the free kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldo Aulestia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in BuBu's zone, Lautaro Puig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zachary Kicia came out of the goal and Lautaro Puig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When BuBu's Emilian Zgabei in 77 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Benito Sanz guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Zbyszko Ratulowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Axel Tasis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zachary Kicia having to interfere. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zbyszko Ratulowski in the 86th minute of play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Aulestia in the 88th minute of the match. Zbyszko Ratulowski took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. BuBu fully deserved thier win.
