But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Alketas Rogas kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. When Spyros Kyrimlis fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pagos FC's protests and gave Spyros Kyrimlis a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Pagos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Spyros Kyrimlis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Avraam Maggioros was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Camilo Gaos. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alketas Rogas in the 29th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Avraam Maggioros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 played minutes Pagos FC got a freekick which was hit by Alketas Rogas. In the 37th minute of the match Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Avraam Maggioros showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Avraam Maggioros. Pagos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kostas Karalexopoulos made a kick off. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Avraam Maggioros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Avraam Maggioros having to interfere. When Spyros Kyrimlis was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. Venezuela made a substitution. Diego Alejandro Pozo replaced Tomas Illescas. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pagos FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! 77 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Diego Alejandro Pozo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Avraam Maggioros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Pagos FC's Kostas Karalexopoulos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Salvador Gisbert, made in the 82nd minute of the game. 87 minutes into the match, Roberto Ocampo notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Pagos FC's Avraam Maggioros. Avraam Maggioros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Venezuela's Diego Alejandro Pozo in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pagos FC's goalie prevented a goal. Manolis Nikologiannis hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Venezuela fully deserved thier win.
