Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Moruga during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 37th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Noboa's late challenge caught a IFK Bajenby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some careless play in the IFK Bajenby defense, Axel Tasis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengt Byström. The IFK Bajenby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengt Byström should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Xayvion Ageitos tried to sneak it across the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xayvion Ageitos. Jarl Torsberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Adolphe De Coster kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-4 in the 73 minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Xayvion Ageitos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 82nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olov Tunander. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. In the 88th minute of the match, Jarl Torsberg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Xayvion Ageitos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Xayvion Ageitos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. In the 94th minute Adolphe De Coster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xayvion Ageitos in the 97th minute. IFK Bajenby's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
