In the 9th minute, one of Chile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chile. The referee gave Lyons a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Severo Basualdo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. 2-0. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boleslaw Zielinski, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Boleslaw Zielinski took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Thiago Pliego to make any attempt to save it. Boleslaw Zielinski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. Boleslaw Zielinski took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Luisito Quinten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Boleslaw Zielinski got free with Thiago Pliego in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lyons were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Chile's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcos Berasko took the corner. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boleslaw Zielinski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 38 in the game by Boleslaw Zielinski from a close distance when the talented Thiago Pliego managed to make a qualified save. Chile's players were relieved. Thiago Pliego made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luisito Quinten made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chile players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lyons.
