The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Puig got free with Richard Silver in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Lautaro Puig kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Richard Silver. That made the score 1-1 in the 9 minute of play. Blue Rock F.C.'s Richard Silver proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Blue Rock F.C. from getting a goal against them. 13 minutes into the match, Rudolf Baker had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rudolf Baker was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Rudolf Baker scored 1-3 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Axel Tasis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Silver having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Tasis in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Silver saved Blue Rock F.C. from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Blue Rock F.C.'s goalkeeper Richard Silver had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Puig. After 38 minutes of play, Blue Rock F.C.'s Josh Kemp made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Eliseo Noboa charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Noboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Blue Rock F.C. booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Fletcher Pritchett scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 1-7. Darryl Fink placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The supporters of Blue Rock F.C. booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant got a free kick in the 64th minute. After 70th play minutes Clint Crabtree shot 1-9, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. If Duncan Thomason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Fletcher Pritchett sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Josh Kemp kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-10 in the 83 minute of play. In the 86th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 92nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-11. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josh Kemp in the 97th minute of the match. Blue Rock F.C. played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
