The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Pirani to strike the kick off in the second half. The Vascogoianiense FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nelsinho Leite should have stopped the shot. After 58 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Vascogoianiense FC's Nelsinho Leite tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. After a rather tough play, Vascogoianiense FC's Sidnei Leão got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 86th minute Vascogoianiense FC were awarded a corner. Aírton Sousa went to the cornerflag to take it. Felix Luque hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Vascogoianiense FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Joel Gaona scored to the left of an out of position Nelsinho Leite, making the score, 1-4. The Vascogoianiense FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
