After 36 minutes of play, Vascogoianiense FC's João Pirani made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After 40 played minutes Vascogoianiense FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Monteiro. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vascogoianiense FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Rigoberto Mina made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Vascogoianiense FC's Nelsinho Leite managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, João Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Pirani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. 96 minutes into the game, Vascogoianiense FC's Gilmar Monteiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-0. Vascogoianiense FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
