The audience was convinced that Laércio Loureiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. In the 33rd match minute, Inter de São Paulo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dida Doutté to maneuver through the defense. Kléber Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. But to his dismay, Laércio Loureiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Kléber Salles firmly grabbed it by the left post. Laércio Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kléber Salles. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Kléber Salles made a huge save. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
