But to his dismay, Carlos-Armando Valderrama quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwidon Patora, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The supporters of Chile booed when Veth Crystals was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ludomir Radzyminski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Lama didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Orlando Casaus went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Veth Crystals's Nedas Jameikis got a free kick in the 21st minute. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Lama read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos-Armando Valderrama, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Lama read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Marcos Lama was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Casaus got free with Marcos Lama in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcos Lama made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Orlando Casaus sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th minute Carlos-Armando Valderrama shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Veth Crystals's Marcos Lama got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Veth Crystals's Erik Persson got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ludomir Radzyminski during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ludomir Radzyminski kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. 64 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Marcos Lama was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcos Lama showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Marcos Lama tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Veth Crystals's goalkeeper Marcos Lama, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Veth Crystals were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Chile's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Song Xing took the corner. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Lama having to make a save. Veth Crystals's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
