The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Camilo Gaos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Clemente Oroitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Jonas Tauro succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 7th playminute. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 12th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 15 minutes, Mauricio Luken managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético Escocia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauricio Luken was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto-Carlos Abbondanzieri having to interfere. If Mauricio Luken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Justin Tello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Leonel Caponi scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 2-0. In the 33rd minute, Club Atlético Escocia's Jonas Tauro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Jonas Tauro sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Atlético Escocia's Leonel Caponi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 5-0 after 45 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonel Caponi made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonel Caponi in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Club Atlético Escocia's Jonas Tauro in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonel Caponi went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. In the 61st match minute, Club Atlético Escocia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justin Tello to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. Club Atlético Escocia's Flavio Ricart was substituted for Narciso Sauveur. The supporters of Club Atlético Escocia booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Atlético Escocia's Titan Nahas was substituted for Leonel Caponi. In the 74th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Tauro in the 75th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a free kick in the 79th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Tauro in the 80th minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Titan Nahas came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético Escocia's Jonas Tauro. But to his dismay, Jonas Tauro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0.
