In the 33rd minute, Eliseo Mina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eugenio Colecchia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 39th minute, Alessio Nola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Peru's Moises Gayoso got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 45 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Colecchia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Godo Møltoft in the 59th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Julian Murillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eugenio Colecchia. That made the score 0-4 in the 61 minute of play. Seggiano made a substitution. Alfred Klawki replaced Daniele Massaro. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Klawki in the 67th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Eugenio Colecchia successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Alfred Klawki might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfred Klawki ran back to his position shaking his head. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Klawki, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godo Møltoft in the 77th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Peru's Eliseo Mina dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Seggiano.
