When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damaso Sancho made a kick off. Eloy Idacio was a little too slow when Lautaro Mancebo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-5. Eloy Idacio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 58th minute. Alberto Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eloy Idacio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Idacio having to interfere. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
