Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Jonatan Palban sent off a good shot on target. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justo Ruy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. NUMBA's Justo Ruy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justo Ruy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Ruy having to interfere. In the 35th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. NUMBA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Justo Ruy could save by the left post. After 52 minutes, Daniel Aztore mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NUMBA and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd minute, Daniel Aztore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montenegro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Justo Ruy firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Aztore in the 54th minute of play. After 57 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. In the 58th minute Jaroslaw Gongolewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Justo Ruy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 59 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Justo Ruy. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 63 minutes into the match, NUMBA's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Justo Ruy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, NUMBA's Justo Ruy got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, NUMBA's goalkeeper Justo Ruy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 89th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. When Fabio Sadurni came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the NUMBA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio Sadurni couldn't finish the play. Ecuador played a much better game than NUMBA and deserved their victory. The NUMBA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
