Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Serbülent Baysan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 5th minute of play forced FC Anderlecht Huachipato's goalkeeper Serbülent Baysan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the match, FC Anderlecht Huachipato's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Serbülent Baysan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serbülent Baysan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serbülent Baysan having to make a save. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serbülent Baysan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorino Peake in the 24th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after FC Anderlecht Huachipato's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Serbülent Baysan managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victorino Peake got free with Julio Vera in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 41 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hernán Diaz who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Hernán Diaz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Maximino Astudillo kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Serbülent Baysan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Anderlecht Huachipato's goalie and right to Cristian Sancho. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Serbülent Baysan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save FC Anderlecht Huachipato from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Serbülent Baysan could save by the left post. After having played for 57 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serbülent Baysan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Alberto-Federico Acosta was substituted for Baumar Ontanilla. In the 62nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Eufemio Ehijo charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eufemio Ehijo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Anderlecht Huachipato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eufemio Ehijo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serbülent Baysan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 67th minute. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Cristian Sancho scored to the left of an out of position Serbülent Baysan, making the score, 0-1. In the 71st minute, Hernán Diaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita tried to score from far away in the 72nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Serbülent Baysan in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serbülent Baysan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The FC Anderlecht Huachipato fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Victorino Peake looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eufemio Ehijo in the 91st minute of play. In the 92ndth minute of the game Victorino Peake who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Lucero Liendo got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serbülent Baysan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the game, Julio Cachero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 96th match minute, FC Anderlecht Huachipato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julio Cachero to maneuver through the defense. FC Anderlecht Huachipato succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
