Davide Rinaldi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 8 minutes into the match, Colombia's Axel Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fortunato Sangermano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 11th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Sangermano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Herta Budino's Fortunato Sangermano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 15th minute of play. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Harry Potter, made in the 17th minute of the game. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Herta Budino! 26 minutes into the match, Herta Budino's goal looked a bit too open when Santino Seco came free, but Fortunato Sangermano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Axel Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fortunato Sangermano was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. After having played for 30 minutes, Achille Di Crescenzo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herta Budino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Achille Di Crescenzo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Sangermano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fortunato Sangermano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 38th minute of play. Antonio Indiano's late challenge caught a Herta Budino's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antonio Indiano helped the player get up and apologised. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kleanthis Zoumakis in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 52nd minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Herta Budino's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Colombia's Axel Montenegro to fire away a dangerous shot which Fortunato Sangermano despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Herta Budino's Fortunato Sangermano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Herta Budino from getting a goal against them. After having played for 56 minutes, Axel Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fortunato Sangermano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santino Seco in the 72nd minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kleanthis Zoumakis went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Herta Budino's Virgílio Furtado was substituted for Achille Di Crescenzo. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. Herta Budino's Johannes Fransson was substituted for Adam Baldy. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Abram Secada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Abram Secada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fortunato Sangermano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fortunato Sangermano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Furtado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Herta Budino fully deserved thier win.
