Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, ATLETAS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Toni Azofra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind ATLETAS FC's goalkeeper Toni Azofra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leonardo Leoz hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Tipi Losantos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Facundo Cadaval fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Facundo Cadaval a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of ATLETAS FC booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Cadaval didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacques Carrasco kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Lautaro Mancebo could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Toni Azofra however easily saved by the left post. Toni Azofra made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Toni Azofra came out and tried to block the shot, but Alberto Tafalla slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 20th minute. Amerigo Moreno hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in ATLETAS FC's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toni Azofra came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toni Azofra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ATLETAS FC's Jacques Carrasco quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Leoz, made in the 34th minute of the game. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toni Azofra having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The supporters of Mexico booed when ATLETAS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose-Antonio Blanco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the ATLETAS FC defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Toni Azofra. The ATLETAS FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Toni Azofra should have stopped the shot. Toni Azofra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Toni Azofra was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Toni Azofra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Toni Azofra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 62nd minute of play. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Joel Gaona put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Toni Azofra. In the 71st minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toni Azofra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 72 minutes of play, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Toni Azofra was left in no man's land by his defense there! A sloppy throw-in by Leonardo Leoz in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by ATLETAS FC's Jacques Carrasco. Jacques Carrasco kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When Mexico's Alberto Tafalla in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ATLETAS FC's goalie prevented a goal. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mexico fans cheered their team off the field, for while ATLETAS FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
