Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Joel Gaona kicked off to start the match. Jacques Carrasco kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Toni Azofra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Gaona's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. In the 9thth minute of the game Joel Gaona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ATLETAS FC's Toni Azofra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 12th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, ATLETAS FC's goalkeeper Toni Azofra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. In the 16th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Toni Azofra was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Alberto Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jose-Antonio Blanco hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Joel Gaona might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Toni Azofra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Gaona ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind ATLETAS FC's goalkeeper Toni Azofra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Toni Azofra saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Toni Azofra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Toni Azofra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 41st minute. ATLETAS FC's Jacques Carrasco got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Jacques Carrasco off the ground. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tipi Losantos made a kick off. Jose-Antonio Blanco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Toni Azofra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, ATLETAS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Toni Azofra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Toni Azofra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Tipi Losantos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ATLETAS FC's Toni Azofra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 77th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in ATLETAS FC's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toni Azofra came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Toni Azofra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as ATLETAS FC's Tipi Losantos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dante Lacasa. That made the score 1-1 after 91 minutes of play. After having played for 96 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Mexico players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
