Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Oxarra in the 42nd minute of play. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sixten Blanck in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Dionisio Etxepare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 55th minute of play forced Ad Astra Per Aspera's goalkeeper Dionisio Etxepare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Ad Astra Per Aspera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixten Blanck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uruguay's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
