Haiti's Noel Seide played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo Guimarães in the 36th minute of play. A throw-in in the 45th minute of the game was made by Vicente Prata with Evaristo Arósio as target, who quickly passed the ball forward.

After 51 played minutes MARINUS MZC got a freekick which was hit by Thiago Ortiz. Daniel Munhoz hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Evaristo Arósio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Noel Seide came out and tried to block the shot, but Evaristo Arósio slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 63rd minute. When Vicente Prata fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MARINUS MZC's protests and gave Vicente Prata a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Haiti booed when MARINUS MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Délio Souza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Noel Seide. Haiti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Délio Souza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Vicente Prata made in the 87th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Haiti's Ernso Constant. The Haiti manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing MARINUS MZC to win.
