Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Xiang Xuan in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregor Rinzema saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Montenegro in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregor Rinzema saved De Digitale Dribbelaars from getting behind. In the 37th minute, Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and De Digitale Dribbelaars's Gregor Rinzema didn't even have to move. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zhao Xiang Xuan got free with Julio Vera in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. De Digitale Dribbelaars's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hugo Blank in the 41st minute. The corner ended in Hugo Blank almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregor Rinzema. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zhao Xiang Xuan to make the kick off. Gregor Rinzema was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-1. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Gregor Rinzema made a huge save. Zhao Xiang Xuan might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zhao Xiang Xuan ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gregor Rinzema. Gregor Rinzema dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zhao Xiang Xuan in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 82 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gregor Rinzema made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. With a little luck, De Digitale Dribbelaars's Gregor Rinzema got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than De Digitale Dribbelaars throughout the match.
