But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Salvador Gisbert made in the 34th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Pagos FC's Alketas Rogas. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Pagos FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. Tomas Illescas placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Avraam Maggioros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The throw-in from Salvador Gisbert in the 43rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Pagos FC's Alketas Rogas. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Avraam Maggioros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pagos FC's Alketas Rogas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Salvador Gisbert in the 78 minute of the game. The supporters of Pagos FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Secada didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Avraam Maggioros having to interfere. Avraam Maggioros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Avraam Maggioros having to make a save.
