An unexpectedly hard shot by Modesto Boni in the 13th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Esteve Perico scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 2-0. If Enrique Cristofor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Esteve Perico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Rogelio Abajas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rogelio Abajas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 25 played minutes Loco Cabezon got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Ieltxu. Loco Cabezon's Esteve Perico got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Abajas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Loco Cabezon's Rogelio Abajas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 4-0 after 34 minutes of play. The supporters of Loco Cabezon booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Rogelio Abajas made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonides Galtero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anastasio Mendebal during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tomas Illescas was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Venezuela's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to Loco Cabezon getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Anastasio Mendebal hit a great ball. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Loco Cabezon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Mercurio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Loco Cabezon had played much better football throughout.
