Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Roberto Benavides started the match with the kick off. Jorge Quintanilla scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorge Rey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jorge Rey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Batres, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Roberto Benavides fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jorge Quintanilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Rey having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Croughton's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Quintanilla came free, but Jorge Rey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Witney's Luis Mondragon got control of the ball when Roberto Benavides tried to sneak it across the goal line. Deris Cortez charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Deris Cortez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Witney's Deris Cortez got a free kick in the 26th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Croughton fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 31st minute. Penalty! Dagoberto Flamenco shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Jorge Quintanilla scored 0-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorge Rey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ricardo Amaya hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. A collision led to Witney getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Deris Cortez hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Tobar during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Witney's Ricardo Tobar got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Luis Mondragon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Benavides in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Witney were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jorge Quintanilla made the kick off in the second half. If Jorge Quintanilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jairo Batres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 66 minutes of play, Croughton's Oswaldo Salguero made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luis Mondragon was left in no man's land by his defense there! 69 minutes into the match, Witney's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Benavides came free, but Luis Mondragon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Oswaldo Salguero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luis Mondragon. Witney's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oswaldo Salguero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Jorge Quintanilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Rey having to interfere. If Jorge Quintanilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Quintanilla struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Jorge Rey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Witney. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Witney players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
