In the 8th minute Luis Del Carmen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Barraza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franklin Díaz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ernesto Barraza firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jhalmar Gamero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sarbelio Uranga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sarbelio Carballo having to interfere. After some careless play in the Bideford defense, Franklin Díaz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernesto Barraza. The Bideford fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Barraza should have stopped the shot. In the 36th minute, Luis Del Carmen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Danilo Alas fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bideford's protests and gave Danilo Alas a yellow card for diving instead. Hythe's Franklin Díaz got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Franklin Díaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Barraza having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alvaro Campos was the one to do the kick off.
