After recieving a nice pass, Claromeco FC's Godofredo Oliverios tried to score from far away in the 8th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Isaias Domiku stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaston Harriet's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. If Gaston Harriet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the game, Esteban Cristos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Claromeco FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independencia the free kick. Esteban Cristos hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Hermengildo Montay was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mateo Peyo. After taking down the ball on Independencia's corner Mateo Peyo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hermengildo Montay quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to Claromeco FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Esteban Cristos hit a great ball. Isaias Domiku showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Harriet, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcos Bibiano in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hermengildo Montay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcos Bibiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Montay having to interfere. The supporters of Claromeco FC booed when Independencia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Peyo didn't get a good kick on the ball.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcos Bibiano was the one to do the kick off. Mateo Peyo's late challenge caught a Claromeco FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateo Peyo helped the player get up and apologised. 52 minutes into the game, one of Independencia:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Isaias Domiku, was totally fooled by Claromeco FC's Godofredo Oliverios, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Harriet in the 58th minute of play forced Independencia's goalkeeper Isaias Domiku to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaston Harriet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91stth minute of the game Marcos Bibiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Claromeco FC's Hermengildo Montay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Claromeco FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Claromeco FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
