With his leg Genaro Gabon managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Protestante AFC's Sixto Maule fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 6th minute, Delmar Blai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sixto Maules short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Genaro Gabon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Delmar Blai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luciano Firmo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Delmar Blai's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute Tiburcio James shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Gabon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Genaro Gabon made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Sixto Maule sent off a good shot on target. Luciano Firmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmar Blai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natalio Orlanda during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th minute, Natalio Orlanda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute of the match, Sixto Maule got a very nice opportunity to score, but Genaro Gabon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Diego Iaki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Delmar Blai stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sixto Maule's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Gabon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Gregorio Diegotxe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Luciano Firmo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Protestante AFC's goalkeeper Luciano Firmo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gregorio Diegotxe. Alejandro Dominic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gregorio Diegotxe came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Lanteri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregorio Diegotxe couldn't finish the play. Jaime Urko's late challenge caught a Protestante AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaime Urko helped the player get up and apologised. Gregorio Diegotxe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lanteri's Delmar Blai got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Delmar Blai, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 94 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Luciano Firmo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar.
