The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celso Tallia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jacobo Xabat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristides Pepillo in the 7th minute of play. Tomás Mouricio scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacobo Xabat, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hernan Hunfredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Tallia having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Aristides Pepillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacobo Xabat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Mouricio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ernesto Belasko fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barraquero AFC's protests and gave Ernesto Belasko a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Barraquero AFC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ernesto Belasko hit a great ball. Hernan Hunfredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Celso Tallia made a huge save. Jacobo Xabat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Mouricio, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute.
