Julian Florinio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Silvanito hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After 8 played minutes Guatraché got a freekick which was hit by Julian Florinio. Frías's Emilio Cresitobalo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Fernandez in the 12th minute of play. After 13 played minutes Frías got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Lapurdi. In the 14th minute, Frías's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Julian Florinio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Remigio Elixio came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Frías fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remigio Elixio couldn't finish the play. After 17 minutes, Astor Poncio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guatraché and the Frías players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 played minutes Guatraché got a freekick which was hit by Astor Poncio. After a defensive mix-up in Guatraché's zone, Carlos Lapurdi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquilino Ortle came out of the goal and Carlos Lapurdi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Guatraché's Gerardo Flor got a free kick in the 25th minute. 30 minutes into the game, Paulo Fernandez lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Emilio Cresitobalo. Remigio Elixio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Ortle having to interfere. Marcelino Sandalio's late challenge caught a Guatraché's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelino Sandalio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Frías getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Marcelino Sandalio hit a great ball. Paulo Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Emilio Cresitobalo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute Paulo Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Cresitobalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basilio Vidal's late challenge caught a Guatraché's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basilio Vidal helped the player get up and apologised. In the 48th minute, Basilio Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Remigio Elixio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Paulo Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Cresitobalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute, Frías's Remigio Elixio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aquilino Ortle. Aquilino Ortle yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 71 minutes into the match, Frías's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Florinio came free, but Emilio Cresitobalo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remigio Elixio struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Aquilino Ortle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Frías. In the 81st minute, Remigio Elixio fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Fernandez in the 85th minute of play forced Frías's goalkeeper Emilio Cresitobalo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remigio Elixio in the 87th minute of play forced Guatraché's goalkeeper Aquilino Ortle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aquilino Ortle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelino Sandalio in the 89th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Tomas Silvanito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frías's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Silvanito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Ortle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcelino Sandalio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aquilino Ortle firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Marcelino Sandalio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frías's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelino Sandalio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Ortle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Frías supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Frías would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
