In the 16th match minute, Polvaredas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romulo Bazkoare to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Reynardo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 16th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Claudio Eliazar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafael Gamus in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Placido Harri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christian Paulin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Magdalena's Placido Harri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosme Kepa in the 23rd minute of play. Paulo Bautistas short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Jorge Reynardo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Christian Paulin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christian Paulin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Jorge Reynardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafael Gamus to make the kick off. Placido Harri made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Cosme Kepa sent off a good shot on target. Polvaredas's Jorge Reynardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Paulin in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Magdalena's goalkeeper Placido Harri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cosme Kepa. In the 67th minute of the match Claudio Eliazar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Reynardo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Christian Paulin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Reynardo having to make a save. Polvaredas's Jorge Reynardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeo Ascencio in the 74th minute of play. After 76 minutes Polvaredas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Claudio Eliazar who took care of the corner kick. Cosme Kepa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosme Kepa struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Placido Harri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Polvaredas. Placido Harri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gamus, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute, Christian Paulin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Reynardo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Magdalena fans cheered their team off the field, for while Polvaredas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
