After a rather tough play, Erize AFC's Gaston Paulin got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Froilan Orlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. Jeronimo Hernando stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serafino Javiero's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Francisco Quexal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvano Ezkerra in the 24th minute of play. Francisco Quexal was a little too slow when Silvano Ezkerra got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 1-0. Silvano Ezkerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erize AFC's Francisco Quexal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Erize AFC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Erize AFC's Francisco Quexal got control of the ball when Eusebio Panpili tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 46 minutes, Mauro Shepherd mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Erize AFC and the Ñacanguazú players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ñacanguazú booed when Erize AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Shepherd didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Silvano Ezkerra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Francisco Quexal, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvano Ezkerra made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Gonzalo Fraco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eusebio Panpili had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusebio Panpili fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Quexal having to interfere. Jeronimo Hernando was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lázaro Cristos. In the 63rd minute Froilan Orlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeronimo Hernando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serafino Javiero who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Jeronimo Hernando when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gaston Paulin hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Froilan Orlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Froilan Orlin put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jeronimo Hernando. 77 minutes into the game, Gaston Paulin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Erize AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ñacanguazú the free kick. After a rather tough play, Erize AFC's Gaston Paulin got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 83rd minute, Froilan Orlin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ñacanguazú's zone, Froilan Orlin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeronimo Hernando came out of the goal and Froilan Orlin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Erize AFC booed when Ñacanguazú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Weterio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvano Ezkerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Francisco Quexal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Erize AFC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Mauro Shepherd hit a great ball. Silvano Ezkerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Quexal having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Mauro Shepherd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Silvano Ezkerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ñacanguazú's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvano Ezkerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Quexal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eusebio Panpili in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Quexal saved Erize AFC from getting behind. In the 99thth minute of the game Silvano Ezkerra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Erize AFC's Francisco Quexal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ñacanguazú fans cheered their team off the field, for while Erize AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
