The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulino Aballe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Abajas, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 6 minutes into the game, Narciso Montrel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Juan Mikeldi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ancóm's Juan Mikeldi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Sabino in the 13th minute of play. Juan Mikeldi made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Narciso Montrel sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 15 minutes, Honorio Sabino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Britos AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Honorio Sabino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nereo Ovando kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ancóm's zone, Narciso Montrel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Mikeldi came out of the goal and Narciso Montrel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juan Mikeldi was a little too slow when Narciso Montrel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 2-0. Juan Mikeldi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Sabino in the 25th minute of play. Cristo Tanio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Paulino Aballe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Ancóm's goalkeeper Juan Mikeldi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Narciso Montrel. Narciso Montrel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Juan Mikeldi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ancóm's goalkeeper Juan Mikeldi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristo Tanio to strike the kick off in the second half. Juan Mikeldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorio Sabino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Humberto Abajas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulino Aballe having to interfere. Ancóm's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
