After a rather tough play, Nelson's Genaro Abel got a free kick in the 34th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Genaro Abel during the 38th minute. The referee showed Silvano Justin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 70 minutes, Fabian Oro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nelson and the Carabajal players grew even worse after the yellow card. 71 minutes into the game, Aquilino Ofelio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carabajal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nelson the free kick. In the 71st match minute, Carabajal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquilino Ofelio to maneuver through the defense.
