Manuel Garikoitz's late challenge caught a Esquina FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Garikoitz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Esquina FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Rosendo Bernard hit a great ball. The supporters of Esquina FC booed when Lapataia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Filipo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Lapataia FC's Ulises Elia got control of the ball when Leopoldo Duarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leopoldo Duarte who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Ulises Elia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Felipe Filipo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Lapataia FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Isidro Daunte hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, Esquina FC's Rolando Chan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 34th minute, Clemente Barea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 35 played minutes Esquina FC got a freekick which was hit by Rosendo Bernard. 37 minutes into the match, Esquina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Salamon came free, but Nicolas Tavio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Esquina FC booed when Lapataia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Raymundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Clemente Barea fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esquina FC's protests and gave Clemente Barea a yellow card for diving instead. 58 minutes into the match, Esquina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Salamon came free, but Nicolas Tavio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Felipe Filipo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nicolas Tavio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 66th minute Marcos Salamon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Tavio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aureliano Millan was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. If Felipe Filipo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felipe Filipo struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
