Gregorio Ofelio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Prudencio Silvanito when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 36 minutes, Marco Montrelle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corrientes FC and the Esquina FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Corrientes FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Marco Montrelle hit a great ball. The attack was good, but when Javier Benvide in the 38th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Prudencio Silvanito made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Gregorio Ofelio sent off a good shot on target. Prudencio Silvanito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nestor Chesus went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score.

53 minutes into the match, Corrientes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Benvide came free, but Orlando Etxatxu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Christian Silviano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Honrio got free with Orlando Etxatxu in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Corrientes FC had won after a very even match.
