When Amadeo Txilar fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Acheral FC's protests and gave Amadeo Txilar a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Fausto Tancredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ullún AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Tancredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgardo Nuxila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Acheral FC's zone, Cecilio Silvino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgardo Nuxila came out of the goal and Cecilio Silvino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Acheral FC's Edgardo Nuxila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Tancredo in the 28th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Acheral FC got a freekick which was hit by Fidel Frechoso. In the 32nd minute, Cecilio Silvino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eliseo Bizi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cornelio Bernaldo's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Edgardo Nuxila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Tancredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Cecilio Silvino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Nuxila having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fidel Frechoso couldn't finish the play. Ullún AFC's Eliseo Bizi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Ullún AFC from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cornelio Bernaldo to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Acheral FC's goalkeeper Edgardo Nuxila had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cecilio Silvino.
