The crowd rose to their feet as Panacón FC's Anier Belo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pastor Chano. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. Baldomero Maiorga charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Baldomero Maiorga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 17 minutes into the match, Panacón FC's Gaston Cresencio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 19 minutes of play Barraquero FC's Baldomero Maiorga was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Baldomero Maiorga kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Pastor Chano made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Anier Belo sent off a good shot on target. Celestino Inge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidio Elia, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 27 minutes into the match, Panacón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidio Elia came free, but Celestino Inge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ciro Formerio kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Ovidio Elia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Celestino Inge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celestino Inge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Elia in the 33rd minute of play. When Geronimo Otsando fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panacón FC's protests and gave Geronimo Otsando a yellow card for diving instead. Geronimo Otsando hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Barraquero FC's Eloy Iratzeder got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ovidio Elia made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Jaime Lorien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panacón FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Lorien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pastor Chano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ovidio Elia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th play minute Ovidio Elia came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Celestino Inge. 1-1. If Anier Belo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute Jaime Lorien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Chano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Barraquero FC defense, Jaime Lorien kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pastor Chano. The Barraquero FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pastor Chano should have stopped the shot. Celestino Inge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Gudesteo, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Rodrigo Gudesteo hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute of the match Gaston Cresencio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pastor Chano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Cristo Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barraquero FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panacón FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Barraquero FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Panacón FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Barraquero FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
