In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Merlo's goalkeeper Emilio Kaiet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacobo Panfilo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Galo in the 79th minute of play. Conrado Galo scored 1-2 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacobo Panfilo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
