After a rather tough play, Escalchi AFC's Alvaro Nardo got a free kick in the 9th minute. Sixto Urbasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evelio Salbatore having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sixto Urbasa in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evelio Salbatore prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luciano Valentine's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Emilio Kaiet skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Isidro Crispo hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Merlo's Sixto Urbasa got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 29 minutes of play, Merlo's Sixto Urbasa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evelio Salbatore was left in no man's land by his defense there! Conrado Galo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Evelio Salbatore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lorenzo Blasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emilio Kaiet having to make a save. Luciano Valentine struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Emilio Kaiet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Escalchi AFC. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luciano Valentine to strike the kick off in the second half. Emilio Kaiet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Valentine in the 51st minute of the match. Celso Jokin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evelio Salbatore having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, Escalchi AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Perico to maneuver through the defense. Conrado Galo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Evelio Salbatore made a huge save. In the 64th minute, Ramiro Perico had to leave the field with a concussion. 64 minutes into the game, Celso Jokin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merlo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Escalchi AFC the free kick. The supporters of Escalchi AFC booed when Merlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Jokin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Merlo's Conrado Galo got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 83 minutes into the game, Luciano Valentine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Escalchi AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merlo the free kick. The supporters of Merlo booed when Escalchi AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Valentine didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Guido Micael from long distance, 84 minutes into the match, got Evelio Salbatore's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Lorenzo Blasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvaro Nardo hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 89th play minute Conrado Galo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Evelio Salbatore. 3-2. Escalchi AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Merlo for a fine match.
