When Rogelio Fortun fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chumillo FC's protests and gave Rogelio Fortun a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th match minute, Chumillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogelio Fortun to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Carrizales booed when Chumillo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Bonifaco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Chumillo FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dario Rosario to strike the kick off in the second half. Chumillo FC's Mariano Eutropio got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edelmiro Garikoitz in the 68th minute of play forced Chumillo FC's goalkeeper Julio Che to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Placido Galo couldn't finish the play.
