Jose Lorien's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norberto Ticho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Mariano Abalos might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Delmar Diagur. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Delmar Diagur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
