The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ruben Romelio during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Celedonio Lastur stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matias Kepa's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Alejandro Soter struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Celedonio Lastur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Huaitiquina. In the 20th match minute, Matambre AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geronimo Colon to maneuver through the defense. Natalio Curcio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Anselmo Oidor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alejandro Soter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Natalio Curcio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Oidor was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Matambre AFC's zone, Alejandro Soter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celedonio Lastur came out of the goal and Alejandro Soter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Geronimo Colon lost his temper 85 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Matambre AFC! The supporters of Matambre AFC booed when Huaitiquina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustaquio Su didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matias Kepa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matias Kepa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 94th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Matambre AFC's Celedonio Lastur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Kepa in the 97th minute of play. If Alejandro Soter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 101st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Huaitiquina walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
