Teofilo Urtun, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Mauricio Federigo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Alfredo Rosio came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Frías FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Rosio couldn't finish the play. Joaquin Honrio hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Rosio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mauricio Federigo was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Norberto Fe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nunez Viator having to interfere. If Orlando Bermudo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 61 minutes into the game, Epifanio Mundo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Frías FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cachi the free kick. A collision led to Frías FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Epifanio Mundo hit a great ball. After 62 minutes, Paulo Bastian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cachi and the Frías FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Paulo Bastian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Frías FC's Hernan Thomas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mauricio Federigo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Cachi's Manuel Aureo got a free kick in the 69th minute. Mauricio Federigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Thomas, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute.
