Reynaldo Ekhi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jaime Abadia went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Adrian Artaldo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberto Romo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. With his leg Alberto Romo managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Pomona's Elias Meendez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 14 played minutes Adrian Artaldo rounded Pilahué AFC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Teodoro Bizen's late challenge caught a Pilahué AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teodoro Bizen helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pomona's Teodoro Bizen got a free kick in the 20th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Pilahué AFC's Israel Matthew broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Reynaldo Ekhi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Abadia in the 23rd minute of the match. Urbano Eladio hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Israel Matthew charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Israel Matthew the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th minute, one of Pilahué AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pilahué AFC. The goalkeeper, Alberto Romo, was totally fooled by Pomona's Arsenio Gonza, who 32 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Teodoro Bizen was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 37 minutes had been played. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernan Ezkerra during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fernan Ezkerra kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Reynaldo Ekhi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofilo Montae in the 43rd minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Abadia in the 60th minute of play forced Pomona's goalkeeper Reynaldo Ekhi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime Abadia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Ekhi having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pomona's zone, Jaime Abadia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Ekhi came out of the goal and Jaime Abadia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Teofilo Montae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Reynaldo Ekhi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaime Abadia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Urbano Eladio charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Urbano Eladio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Urbano Eladio hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute of the match Arsenio Gonza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alberto Romo skillfully saved the ball. Jaime Abadia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elias Meendez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Pilahué AFC's Urbano Eladio got a free kick in the 89th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 91 minutes into the game, when Ruben Esquipula put in a rough tackle. In the 90th minute, one of Pilahué AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pilahué AFC. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pilahué AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pomona.
