Nemesio Rico came out of the goal and Dionisio Orlondon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dionisio Orlondon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Potrerillo's goalkeeper Filomeno Asteri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Potrerillo's Filomeno Asteri got control of the ball when Jose Perez tried to sneak it across the goal line. 9 minutes into the game, Mateo Macario was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Potrerillo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Videla the free kick. After 9 played minutes Potrerillo got a freekick which was hit by Mateo Macario. The supporters of Videla booed when Potrerillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvano Baumar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nemesio Rico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dionisio Orlondon in the 21st minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Videla's Filomeno Asteri threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Samuel Erruki, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 25th minute Nestor Sanchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nemesio Rico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dionisio Orlondon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jose Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Asteri having to interfere. When Nestor Sanchez came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Potrerillo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Sanchez couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dionisio Orlondon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Jose Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Asteri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dionisio Orlondon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Nemesio Rico when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Pedro Loi fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Videla's protests and gave Pedro Loi a yellow card for diving instead. Lino Urdin charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lino Urdin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nemesio Rico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvano Baumar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Potrerillo's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Erruki came free, but Filomeno Asteri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filomeno Asteri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samuel Erruki's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Jose Perez struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Filomeno Asteri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Videla. In the 75th match minute, Potrerillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Nesor to maneuver through the defense. Filomeno Asteri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jose Perez's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the match, Marcelo Nesor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nemesio Rico. Videla's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelo Nesor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Filomeno Asteri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Erruki in the 95th minute of play. When Silvano Baumar fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Potrerillo's protests and gave Silvano Baumar a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Jose Perez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filomeno Asteri was relentless in the 98th minute of the game.
