Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clemente Eliu in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basilio Azeari prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd minute, Edelmiro Urdaspal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Geronimo Oto from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Juan Ihintza's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 75th match minute, Christophersen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Gaueko to maneuver through the defense. Fidel Gaueko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Ihintza having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Luciano Claus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juan Ihintza was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. After having played for 83 minutes, Fidel Gaueko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Christophersen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fidel Gaueko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luciano Claus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Juan Ihintza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 95 in the game by Fidel Gaueko from a close distance when the talented Juan Ihintza managed to make a qualified save. Smith FC's players were relieved.
