Celso Goyo came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Zuberbühler's Baltasar Roldan. But to his dismay, Baltasar Roldan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tiburcio Goiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tiburcio Goiz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celso Goyo having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Roldan in the 17th minute of play forced Deportivo Toluca FC's goalkeeper Celso Goyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Goyo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiburcio Goiz in the 23rd minute of the match. Iker Lluc lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfonso Cordarrel in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romeo Faron prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Baltasar Roldan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiburcio Goiz struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Celso Goyo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zuberbühler. If Gustavo Bizi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 41 minutes, Gustavo Bizi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zuberbühler's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Bizi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 45 played minutes Zuberbühler got a freekick which was hit by Eleuterio Quirce. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Cordarrel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tiburcio Goiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustavo Bizi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Goyo having to interfere. Zuberbühler's Gustavo Bizi got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Celso Goyo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Bizi, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Deportivo Toluca FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Serafin Guillelmus hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, Zuberbühler's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Cordarrel came free, but Romeo Faron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Deportivo Toluca FC's goalkeeper Celso Goyo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baltasar Roldan. After a rather tough play, Zuberbühler's Tiburcio Goiz got a free kick in the 71st minute. Zuberbühler's Romeo Faron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Clis in the 74th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Baltasar Roldan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zuberbühler's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltasar Roldan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Goyo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute, Mario Gotzon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 79 minutes, Blas Hitzeder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Toluca FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blas Hitzeder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 82nd minute Conrado Clis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Faron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeo Faron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Cordarrel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blas Hitzeder in the 89th minute of play forced Zuberbühler's goalkeeper Romeo Faron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Zuberbühler's Tiburcio Goiz got a free kick in the 89th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Deportivo Toluca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Baltasar Roldan came free, but Celso Goyo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Zuberbühler players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
