Fernando Victoro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celedonio Shantala having to interfere. Celedonio Shantala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristo Arotza in the 13th minute of play. Vertientes FC's Celedonio Shantala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristo Arotza in the 18th minute of play. Cristo Arotza struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Celedonio Shantala didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toluca FC. 27 minutes into the match, Toluca FC's Cristo Arotza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celedonio Shantala narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Zeledon Oihenarte reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Constantino Gotzon. The goal made the score 1-0. Primitivo Eguerdi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Gotzon having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Gabriel Paul kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Primitivo Eguerdi took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Constantino Gotzon. Constantino Gotzon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Primitivo Eguerdi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Gotzon having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Toluca FC's Honorato Belo got a free kick in the 62nd minute. If Fernando Victoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celedonio Shantala made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Cristo Arotza sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonardo Elia during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leonardo Elia hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristo Arotza got free with Celedonio Shantala in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Fernando Victoro took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Celedonio Shantala to make any attempt to save it. Gabriel Paul was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 77 played minutes Toluca FC got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Paul. After a rather tough play, Vertientes FC's Sixto Llanos got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Celedonio Shantala acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 83rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Alfonso Nardo. Zeledon Oihenarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Gotzon having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Toluca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Eguerdi came free, but Constantino Gotzon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristo Arotza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cecilio Huly hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the game, Zeledon Oihenarte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Constantino Gotzon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zeledon Oihenarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Toluca FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vertientes FC.
