Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roberto Martino kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. When Fermin Bernabel came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Carolina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fermin Bernabel couldn't finish the play. After 29 minutes, Epifanio Inautzi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carolina and the REYES players grew even worse after the yellow card. Epifanio Inautzi kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Martin Vimaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Albino Eusko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carolina's Nestor Benat got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 39th minute Fabricio Lucian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Mel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 41 minutes, Fabricio Lucian managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. REYES's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabricio Lucian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Vimaro in the 44th minute of play forced REYES's goalkeeper Albino Eusko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Vimaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Albino Eusko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martin Vimaro was the one to do the kick off. Roque Mergildo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Mel having to interfere. 62 minutes into the game, Fabricio Lucian recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eugenio Mel. Fabricio Lucian showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Martin Vimaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Martin Vimaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carolina's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Vimaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albino Eusko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Benat in the 75th minute of play forced REYES's goalkeeper Albino Eusko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Roque Mergildo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugenio Mel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabricio Lucian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Carolina's goalkeeper Eugenio Mel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roque Mergildo. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Carolina lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
