Rodrigo Kimetz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres Pirmin in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Yacuchirí's goal looked a bit too open when Anier Cordera came free, but Robustiano Abel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teo Iago's late challenge caught a Yacuchirí's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teo Iago helped the player get up and apologised. After 21 played minutes El Gran Tequila got a freekick which was hit by Teo Iago. 22 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Yacuchirí's Andres Pirmin fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Erubiel Salomon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yacuchirí's supporters rose to their feet, but Erubiel Salomon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Kimetz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute, Andres Pirmin made a precise shot to the right of Rodrigo Kimetz. After the first half Yacuchirí were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erubiel Salomon was the one to do the kick off.
