Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernesto Hondo in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eduardo Markel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 29 played minutes Lorenzo Sesuldo rounded Baldecito's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. In the 37th minute Ernesto Hondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Markel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 42 minutes on the clock, Amadeo Ortzi commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teo Illart stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Teo Illart managed to get in a good position for a shot. monterrey's supporters rose to their feet, but Teo Illart was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Federico Resto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
